Heading out tomorrow to try some tweaking on my purple gun. Got som 275BE,275MH, 250 TEZ. 270EMAX. sized and ready .gonna take IMR4198 76-79 gn charges to see what happens. Not sure what to try with the 250TEZ? Going to try to work from 68-72 gns there. For those that do not know . My set up is a 28"Keieger 1.250for 8" tapering to 1.0@28.25. On a Savage target action. No barrel nut nesteled in to a Boyds Provarmint. Any advice is greatly appreciated...supposed to be breezy...but mostly a tail wind...I hope Drop

Drop, I shoot the 275 BE with 78 grains of 4198 and I think that is fairly standard. i talked to a guy last week that is shooting the 270 EMAX and he said his gun shoots them the best with 73 grains of 4198. He showed me a few 2" groups at 500 yards. I was pretty impressed with the groups he was getting with the EMAXs. Hope this helps, and good luck.

I shoot a bit different setup but imo the 270 emax and the ballistic extreme like a. looser fit than the match hunter and tez which like a tighter fit. I think the 270 emax is a all around great. bullet. My best performer 270 emax from 200 to 500 yds and 275 be from 0-200 yds

Russell I would start @ 72 and work my way up with the 275s and IMR, don't know that I would go above 78 or so but you be the judge. I would also play with the sizing especially on the MHs, normally they like it tight.
the TEZ? normally I don't go that light?

The jacket on the Match hunter is a little thicker than the BE and EMAX and I believe.the TEZ is solid copper. At the.shoot I sized the BE at .449 and it was a little loose. So I tighten them up to .4495. All of them. Those that dont group well will get a duplex next time out To get used up...then we will try a little tighter....for those that resist...I have a hammer in my bag. I hate hammer downs! But I love how the spectators all tuck their tails and scurry away mumbling..lol Drop

the MH jackets are .028 and the emax and be are .015, a big difference when it comes to swelling them in the barrel..
with your barrel length the MHs will likely shoot better tight and fast. they are a great hunting bullet, I prefer the 300 myself but that's just me...

The 275gr BE has been one of the easiest bullets for me to shoot sabotless. Ive even loaded them fairly loose (2 finger pressure)and 100gr by volume of Blackhorn209 with excellent results out to 100 yards.
