Has anyone used an action from Lone Peak Arms? I'm considering using one for my next rifle build. I like the looks and features, but haven't heard much about them.

Thanks for posting as I have never heard of that company. I have been looking at titanium actions for an ultralight build and that Razor Ti looks like a heck of an option. I bookmarked the site for future use.

Looks to be a quality piece. Being a (relatively) new company, their popularity is probably more amongst local shooters. I scanned thru what I could but missed their Pricing? Obviously the round Remington clone (the razor) would probably be the cheapest? I am guessing in the neighborhood of$900.00 +/-? In the past five or more years a number of small companies have sprung up producing these CNC actions. I use a Stiller "Viper" on my 600 yard bench gun and have also used his "Python" on the heavy bench gun I was shooting in 1K competition. I had/have no complaints with either. It would be nice to talk with someone who has one and get their opinion.

I talked to a guy last week that has been using their Razor TI action and he says they are the best TI action out there bar none, expensive? of course! but I see one in my future along with a proof barrel and carbon fiber stock for a 6.5 GAP lightweight build.

That sounds close to my build idea. High Tech Specialties makes a 20oz stock sold through Brownells for $350ish. That coupled with a 20oz action and light barrel and you have an extremely light build if coupled with the right scope and mount. I am leaning toward .260AI but 6.5x47 is still on the radar. Your 6.5 SAUM idea takes it up a notch. I shot one of those last year at a PRS match and it was impressive. BTW I just ordered a Curtis Custom Axiom action a cpl weeks ago. It's due to ship out early next month. As Richard stated it's another one of the "new" custom action manufacturers out there. The difference is this action comes with a 20MOA base and pinned lug in SS for $750. At that price point a factory remmy action gets a lot less attractive and a blueprinted 700 gets down right ugly.

My Viper and Python come with a 1/2" dovetail machined into the top of the action. Then Stiller provided rings in various MOA configurations. I would say most of these custom actions are rock solid!

You might talk to tar12. He has killed a boatload of deer with a .243. He has no reservations about the cartridge but is shooting it out of a rifle.

the 243 can be a good gun with the right bullet, little smallish for my liking but it works, the 6.5s and 7s are more my cup of tea.
