I have seen that very style of rest at matches and Bill Shehane has a one piece aluminum stock similar to that one. His was probably one of the first and clones began appearing after that. I think Elkman makes a similar style two piece rest for heavy gun 1K and 600 yd. BR... Bruce Bear also makes those style rests. They join together in the middle and set your gun up with it connected. Once you are properly set up, a "joining" piece is removed since they cannot be connected for a match. These are the pains $$$'s long range bench rest shooters go for repeatable alignment.
