I will try to get a measurement on jacket thickness this afternoon.

Something better than the 200grSST ballistics wise and easier to size than the 240 CEB's. Weight can fall where it needs to for best BC.

200 SST Base = .040 , Ogive = .030 , Nose = .020

200 SST Base = .040 , Ogive = .030 , Nose = .020 Wow! That seems too thick for smooth form obturation. Thanks Jerry!

I would guess that the .40 caliber bullets that Kyle is going to makee will be in the same price range as the. 45 caliber bullet. I can't understand why the sabot shooters would pay the extra money for this bullet. A bullet to shoot in sabots is like taking ML's a step back when shooting sabotless with a .45 is so easy without much work.

I would think if Kyle builds the bullets there will be a lot more people building .40 cal guns to shoot sabot less. Jeff I'm on the list make mine a .40 cal !

Looks like Jeff has .40 cal barrels on order, so looks like the .40 bullet project needs to happen sooner than later. I'd like to thank those that participated in the .40 polls. The polls are still open if you have not yet voted. All polls will be taken into account on design of the bullet.

I am in the process of designing right now. My goal is to have test bullets in late March / early April.

Getting into the design of the .40, I struggle with exactly what Mark has brought up. However I do see and understand the wants and needs for a not so heavy .40 cal bullet for sabot use. I will be going forward with the .40 project and offering at least one weight of .40 that will cater to the sabot shooters. The BC's of the .40 will really shine in the heavier weights.

For a 225 gr bullet, how does a BC of .340 with .300 of bearing surface sound?

How fast can we push it? Drop Sabot or bore size?

With a sabot, obturation is not a top concern, so the jacket thickness really comes down to impact velocity. How fast do you plan to push a .40 at the muzzle?

Bore size. Is 3500fps realistic? Drop
