I have had some people request that Pittman Bullets offer a .40 cal version of the AccuMax. I'm trying to gauge the demand for a .40 and also what diameter / weight people are looking for.

I would like something you could use with a sabot in a 45, around 225 grain or less.

275 grain that way it has a very good BC. and a .400 diameter to shoot smooth sized. I think if there was a bullet like this that the .40 caliber would be as popular as the .45 .

225gr-240gr lead/copper bullet should fit in existing sabots. PRs large 40cals fit them without a problem.

I mostly hunt and shoot 250 yds and less with a short and lightweight gun, and would like to see a bullet in the 200-250 range. 200 -225 if possible to gain anything bc wise over the 200sst. If not a 250 would work

The 200 sst is a couple of tenths under .400 which most everyone with a Mcgowen have to lightly knurl to fit smooth without sizing. It would be nice if the new bullet were .4001-.4002 to allow for a better fit without knurling. This would not really affect the people who have .392/.400 barrels as they have to full form anyway. I am good with anything from 200gr to 250gr. Thanks for your effort.

I would prefer 200 to 225 to keep recoil down for my daughters and also slightly larger in diameter than the SSTs and Barnes. They are a bit looser than I like.

200-225 for me in the .40. Smooth sized....
X2
closer to 225 OK but 200 to 225 good.
I"ll put in an order for 50 now! And if they shoot as good as I think then probably plenty more. 10

Guys it looks like there is enough interest in the .40's. I will take on the .40 cal project after .452" bullet #2 is up and running.

Would love to see something in the 200 to 225 for both of my niece guns!! With the Barnes 195 having problems we don't have a lot of options in the 40 caliber. I would definitely be inline with my credit card. Thanks Kyle for giving us another option! Mark

A bullet with a heavier weight 250-275 grains and high BC will make the .40 caliber a great long range shooter. The lighter weight 200 SST will kill deer beyond 200 yds easily and guys are shooting some small groups with them.
