Speaking about Toyota and it's quality. Well I just came back from a 7 day camping trip in South Dakota which was a 500 mile round trip. Truck did awesome and average mpg was 9.7 pulling just over 7k pounds. Fishing was slow but we were 1 shy of our 8 possession limit for my family. My father and mom brought back 6 walleye as well as my boss. Dad and my boss went out on Wednesday and limited out with 4 a piece and the guides limit. My wife out fished me with 3 walleye to my 2 and the biggest at 25" and over 5lbs. My boy caught 2 walleye and 20+ pound carp he snagged. Whoops

Sounds like a great trip! Even when the fishing isnt crazy just getting away with the family is a great experience

yes, 4:30's will suck up the fuel, and pull like a tank. and if i'm not mistaken, toys have a small fuel tank ? 20-26? 26.5 can't forget the .5

the Toy will pull with any gas truck out there and never overheat no matter how hard you push it, same goes for the tranny.
recently a guy in Louisiana ( Victor Sheppard) reached the million mile mark in his 2007 Tundra, his truck was one of the first to come off the line in Texas when they started building them in 07. It still has the original engine, tranny and paint despite averaging 125000 mi per year. the article is in July/August BassMaster magazine.
kind of makes me feel good about my Tundra.
If you are getting 14-15 with an 8500# trailer you must have a Dodge diesel, never seen a gas truck do that. My buddy gets 11-13 with his "tuned" dodge pulling a 32' fifth wheel depending on terrain
