Guys, we will be having the last major work party before the Kentucky Challenge on August 5th, 6th and 7th. We will be sawing fell trees making the wood stack bigger, picking up limbs, small rocks ect. so the range is able to be mowed. Jeff has put a lot of time and Benjamin's into the range expansion. If you are able to come and join in, I'm sure Jeff would buy you a roast beef with colby cheese sandwich from Claysville General Store, and that folks is a mighty good sandwich! Y'all come and show some support for Jeff and what he has done. It is truly amazing! Thanks Guys!

I have been getting away with going to Kentucky twice a year to the shoot but to go for a weekend of work and a 800 mile round trip by myself would be overly pushing it. We don't have much in the way of family here in NC and that means leaving the wife alone. Plus, I am not as young as most all ya'lls! Sorry Hank!

I know not everyone lives within a reasonable driving distance to participate in a work party, most probably do not. If you do and could make the trip it would be greatly appreciated.

I appreciate Kyle trying to round up some help,,, but I want you all to know I don't expect anyone to drive hours to get here and then move trees... I know everyone of you would help if you lived in the back yard.., So just knowing this is good enough for me...
Richard,,, You might be old but you still shoot good.

Speaking for myself, I really appreciate the work that gets done at the range. I also know that getting together with a bunch of guys with the same interests can also be a lot of fun. Wish I live a bit closer:)

Richard..,,! Kyle, myself, Mindy, Doug and Scott were working at the range today,, burning brush, mowing grass and just the usual clean up before the shoot... Well you got to start picturing in your head this little description I'm about to tell you.... So get ready...
Kyle wore one of my blaze orange shirts today to work in and he brought his big ass weed eater,,, so Kyle being form the Volunteer state,, said I'll get the weed eatin if you guys will get the mowing and trash pick up...... Well,,, away he went with that weed eater and he was making quick work of it too,, when all of a sudden,, Scott and I saw an orange streak go running across the field... We ran over there to see what was the matter and Kyle was yelling "Yellow Jackets"..... He turned around and I yelled" Their all over you",,, So Kyle takes off running again.. I was just kidding him but he had already been stung 8-10 times and he wasn't taking any chances.... You never saw a funnier thing in your life as to see Kyle speed across the range flopping his arms at a speed of around 2850 FPS....... Doug poured some diesel fuel on the nest and we killed them all.... But you would have just had to be there to really understand what happened.... Probably worse than Russel sitting on a snake...

Kyle, I feel for you, I got into a nest a few times and it is never fun. The worst was shoving brush one early fall day with a dozer and the nest was behind me and the only way out. I left the dozer in there until the next morning when it was around 40 and went in to burn them out. I think they got me 11 or 12 times before getting out of there. Them things was all over that dozer when I left.

Really sorry for Kyle getting his ass bit! I have also stumbled on them suckers. Fortunately I am not allergic to the stings but days afterwards, they itch like a bitch! Any chance there was some shooting done at 400 yard? And if so, what kind of "come ups" from a 100 yard zero? In my case, I am pushing the 300 Pittman's at 2770 fps and need 4" at 100 to be on at 300.
