Went looking at campers today with wife and kids. Long story short we found a 2011 North Trail 28' Travel trailer for bottom price $15k asking price $17k. Weighs 4900lbs and small slide out with bunks. Also has a slide out on the rear that holds bikes.
Do does anyone know anything about north trail and what's your opinions? Is the price a decent price? Does anyone know anything about campers for words of wisdom?
The camper I have now is 5900lbs and at the moment pulling with a 04 Silverado with over load springs and small 4.8v8 motor.

My camper is around 4900 dry also, but we take 100 gallons of water with us in the holding tanks and the 700 pound 4 wheeler in the truck bed. Not to mention all of the camping and hunting gear. In other words, I doubt that you will truly notice the 1000 pound lighter load. If I were to pull with a tiny V8 or V6, I would buy one of those short campers (length wise) that would be in the 3000 pound range. The price you have listed is likely a going price if buying from a dealer. Camper prices aren't cut and dry like auto prices are. Our camper is a 2012 model and we bought it gently used from a dealer in 2014 for 14,000. We opted not to buy one with a slide out because we looked at new campers on a slanted lot in the rain and each one had a trail of water running across the floor.

I am getting it for $15k talked to couple people I camp with said that's a great deal. Our goal is next spring pay off my wife's highlander and then trade my truck in for 2500.
Biggest thing is my wife loves this camper and she was not really into it until our last camping trip so she's wanting a nicer camper. I really like this one also so figured I better do this now.

That is wonderful that she enjoys it so much. My wife said the other day "I will be glad when July is over". I asked "why" and she said "because it will be another month closer to opening day of archery for our first fall camping trip". Seems we enjoy time away from the crowds and suburban life more and more as we grow older.
