MEMORIAL DAY
In remembrance of those who gave it all AND to those who served and are still serving; THANK YOU!
I'm watching the sun rise this morning thinking about the men and women that gave their lives and spilled their blood for what we enjoy today, we have some here on this board that have put themselves in harms way and still some that are serving today as I write this, we all owe you a great debt. I for one much appreciate what we have here in this country and realize that without these brave men and women we would likely be living under a dictatorship today. I have visited and seen what that is and its a terrible way to have to live..................THANK YOU ALL!

I cringe when someone wishes me a happy memorial day. Usually an email contact at work on a friday. I usually do not correct them because at work, you need to not make something like that an issue with a customer.
Today is not really a completely happy day. It's sort of happy that we are all here and that we are all free. It is very sad and somber in that so many millions of lives have been given to defend that happiness. 10's of millions of family members, children, spouses and friends who do not have their Dad, brother, grand dad, uncle or friend anymore. Or, more recently, a mom, grandmom, aunt, sister or friend.
It's nice to thank all who are serving us. They do a great job and put themselves in enormous risk. However, that is what Veterans day is for. Today is for those who have been killed, most way too young to leave us. So brave in their love for this country and who we all are and what we have.
Thank you to the families who live with the losses of these people and thank you for those that have been taken from us...giving you and me the right and freedom to be speaking these words.
I was having coffee out on the deck today and my wife came out crying. I asked her what was wrong and she said "nothing". I said "what's the matter"? And I held her. She said she was watching as people were laying wreaths on graves on TV and listening to a few stories of families who have lost people and what it all means to them. How brave they were and how they weren't resentful...but proud. That's America. Neither of us have served in that way...and it's almost a badge of guilt when you see people who have lost their soul mate, their child or friend.
What a gift we have been given at the price of blood.
