Cats are cool pets...low maintenance. I've had Siamese, Maine coon, muts and all kinds. Dogs...fish...birds.... it's a great joy but we outlive them and personally i can't take the emotion of caring for one vs loosing one.
My hats off to all of you...cool pets for sure.

Yo tengo una manada de lobos: one Border Collie, one Lab, and one cattle dog. I grew up running rough stock so always had herding breeds. The lab is my wife's and when he dies we are getting a Vizsla as our sporting dog. Our lab is a bitch and does a poor job of representing the breed; I blame it on a lack of male influence before we were married. My Border is a weirdo who loves soccer balls above all other things. The cattle dog is mi hermano and happens to be very skilled at dog jitsu which we practice daily when I get done working out. They are the plebes in my villa and the pride of mini lions (two Siamese and one Tortie) just judge the rest of us.

Vizsla's are cool, my uncle had one that we hunted pheasant with when I lived in Iowa. I had a German short haired pointer too...that sucker had a nose that was unbelievable and it was a natural pointer...would even honor another dog's point without any training. Crapped like an elephant tho and therein lies the maintenance. It was excellent with small kids too. That's good info for you Keith lol

Aha...a dog eat shi! Does he smile while consuming this fecal material lol
"Some dogs will start eating poop when they aren't absorbing enough nutrients, they have parasites, or they have issues with their pancreas. All coprophagic dogs should be examined by a veterinarian. Please read my other post on coprophagia and dog health."

No, because she often gets caught and told to spit it out. My dogs have better health care than some people and the vet doesn't know why she does it.

If you look at the last of the four dog pic's I posted, the "Hines 57" Carley is a poop eater She came from a shelter so may have learned it there. Possibly got left out on the community feeding and had to eat the crap? Like Keith indicated, she get feed better than most humans and top shelf vet care. Tried those pill to no avail also. When I walk her, I have to be constantly watching that she does not stop (what might look like sniffing) and pick up a turd! Speaking of Visula's, we used to have a Weimariner, which looks much like the Vis. only grey. Smart dog!

This is Mele, she had a complete ACL tear. She had surgery yesterday to repair her knee, it is call a TPLO. I am not sure what it means, but it sure was expensive. It kind of put my hobbies on hold for a few months. She is almost 2 and very active Rottweiler (yes we kept her tail). The vet said this was the only options for getting her back to 100%. She has such a good personality, she is well worth it.

Pets can get expensive when something goes wrong but when you love them it's worth every penny

in this surgery they cut the end of her lower leg bone completely through and rotated it. The vet says she basically just has a broken leg now and they screwed a metal brace to her bone. I think someone forget to remind her this morning she just had surgery. She is pretty much back to wanting to play with her ball. It is an 8 week recovery of no running or jumping.
It was no question we had to do the surgery since every time she ran she would then limp for a day or so. She is worth it
