Well, I went back out too. I only had 42°F and 12mph winds. Not knowing what the BC was I ran with the .420 I used the other day and used the predicted 3.3 MRAD drop. I also held zero for wind just to see if the prediction for drift was on so I could double down on BC. I hit high and right. I did a quick review on the Phone Skope and decided to drop to a flat 3 MRAD on elevation and I needed a full mil of wind. Next two were spot on and 4.25" center to center or .803 MoA. I'll take it all day at 505 yds while shivering on the wet ground: I had my photographer along today and she is still editing the action shot through the Phone Skope. I'll get it posted when she is finished.

You absolutely have it figured out, Keith, great shooting. Your bullets are getting the job done as are you at the trigger and with your dialing calculations. Temperatures in my neck of the woods today reached a balmy 5 degrees, currently zero, forecast to drop to minus 8 tonight. I'll be waiting till the end of the week to hopefully get out to the range. I'm curious, do you have any information on how your bullets perform when shooting deer? Do they hold together better than some of the other brands due to the design of your tapering jacket thickness?

Thank you, Keith. Read all four threads. Reads and looks like great bullet performance. I hunt for pleasure and always intend to eat what I kill. In the context of my new Hankins SPML-45, I've been very concerned about the "grenading" bullets that destroy and spread lead shrapnel contaminating a lot good meat. I desire to select the bullet that performs the best in terms of humanely killing and resulting in as little meat waste as possible. One of your bullet weights might be the best solution.

Mike,
I am running them pretty hot right now for testing and based on how it slammed that 'yote (a .308 diameter 190gn SMK doesn't make impact like that) I'm sure they hammer deer. I hunt with a much lighter gun than I'm using for testing these and I shoot about 300fps slower with my hunting load. I don't like recoil and don't need 500yds capability to shoot 150yds in the woods here in NC. I think at reasonable velocities like 2400fps (what Jeff Fisk and I shoot) the bullet performance is going to be good. Most cup and cores are designed around that type of MV; that style of bullet came out with cartridges like the .30-30, .32 Special, 6.5/7/8/9/9.3 Mauser, etc and that is why you see PERFECT bullet performance out of those guns. You see gross failure of these bullets because they are pushed way faster than intended by a lot of SML loads. I think my bullets will work well when asked to do what they are supposed to do. If you are a speed demon and shoot at normal ranges I think a mono is the best bet; guys seem to do well with the Barnes bullets.

You'll have to check out the Phone Skope video here since I can't upload it on Hank's.

That is incredible. Excellent shooting and report on your findings.
Keith, Are you going to be able to source jackets in the future? I realize the tapered jackets may be out but have you found any other jackets?

Yes, I can source jackets but the tapered jacket may be gone. We are negotiating how big a run he would require in order to do it again. I still have access to about 70K jackets and I'm buying them as fast as I get money together.

The shooting is excellent and the video is even better. The one word commentary says it all.

I hadn't heard any of the audio until you said something. On my phone it was silent. That's funny.

When we got married I bought her a DSLR camera with lenses and a tripod as her wedding gift because she enjoys photography. She got a few others while she was waiting for me to get set up and finally shoot the 3 charges I brought to the range: Getting the Phone Skope and spotter set up: Works with your phone so you don't have to run the DSLR with it like I do the work cameras I should have rolled out my shooting mat because the ground was still wet from rain that morning My wife said here you are making the, "Duh dun da duh face." I told her you can't flinch when your mouth is open.

If one was to shoot prone here in far northern Illinois, you'd be laying in the snow. Warmed up to a steamy 7 degrees today with bright sunshine.
The phone-skope video was very cool. Amazing to watch the bullet rocket downrange in supersonic velocity.
