Wondering if anyone has tried both ignitions in the same gun and what differences were.

If you look in the Pressure Trace section of the forum, you can find some direct comparisons. Usually DI gets higher pressure and velocity with the same load.

Yes DI will be higher pressure. Shoot less powder with Di. I have both DI and HIS . I prefer the HIS just for the ease of it but a lot of guys love the DI.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I kinda view HIS as more of a hunting oriented solution, and DI as more of a target oriented solution.

I have shot both in my rifle. About 2 gr more powder with HIS than DI to get the same velocity.

Are the ignition systems interchangeable or was there machining required to change from one to the other?

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think for my Encore conversion, it is just a different breach plug.

If you bought a plug from Jeff that’s a HIS or DI, they are interchangeable with each other at will as long as they are the same thread pitch.
