Anyone know what size Allen screw is that you loosen to adjust smooth headed screw to tighten forearm. Mine isn’t tapped all the way to the cross hole so I can’t keep my forearm tight. I need to run a tap through it. I think it might be metric. Thanks everyone.

it takes a 1/16 th allen wrench,, set screw may be a 6/32? check to be sure others here know more!!!! but you can always drill out and install another size...... that works

Definitely not 6-32 the outside diameter of #6 is .138 mine is .112. Allen wrench is 1.5 MM which is .059 leading me to believe it’s an M3x .5 thread size. I called CVA and they couldn’t tell me gonna research and let me know Monday. Drilling and retapping is my next option. Thanks for your input

Just guessing but it probably has a burr in the bottom of the hole. Use a very small drill bit and clean out the hole and reinstall the set screw and make sure the screw is sticking out just a bit. It doesn’t take much to lock the for forearm screw in place. Then use blue Loctite on the set screw to keep it from coming loose.

That was my assumption also but set screw barely goes below flush.

Take it with you to the hardware store and see which size nut fits it. Might want to get a bottom or plug tap. Starting tap may be to long.

Here’s the problem if I drop it I’m done I’ll never find it. I use a white blanket at home to avoid loosing it. If I can find some I’m just gonna buy and try at home they can’t cost much. Thanks

Looks like it’s a big mystery I watched a you tube video where CVA guy said use 1.5MM Allen wrench that came in your kit with rifle to loosen Allen screw. Here’s where I’m at I can’t get either 1.5MM OR 1/16 wrench to work. I worked at machine shop for 35 years but retired now. If I could carry barrel to work we would use thread gages and find out for sure what thread size it is . I know I’m kicking this dead horse too much but that one little Allen screw is keeping me from shooting my CVA scout conversion. Thanks again for everyone’s help.

So with both sizes of the allen wrenches you have not removed the set screw ? Can you get your hands on a small Ez out and try to remove it? When I first tried my Allen wrench it would slip also but finally it worked. Yesterday I checked my two allen wrench with my calipers they were 1/16 th. As you know, Lowes has various hanging thread pitch check at the bolt area,
