If anyone is on the fence about doing Scout 45-70 conversion do it. I wish I had known about these last year before I bought a CVA MRX 50 cal muzzle loader that has a choked barrel and it took me forever to find a bullet/sabot combo to shoot out of it. The Scout conversion is a one holer with both Parker 275 BE and Fury 275 star tip. Nothing but fun to shoot a big thank you to Jeff Hankins for all he did to make it happen. God bless everyone we serve an awesome God.

I have 3 of them setting in boxes just waiting to be converted. I’m planning to get one converted in the next month or so.

Zip Tie did find a new home. They guy is taking really good care of her tho. Here’s a picture of her. I shot a .322” at 100 yards at the KY Challenge. Should have kept her.

I also recently purchased a Scout from Jeff and my barrel is choked pretty bad.

I was really concerned about the barrel being choked when I decided to do the conversion. I lucked up my bore is incredibly straight from muzzle to breech. Loading pressure after fouling the barrel is still one handed and very smooth. Like I said I got lucky on other forums I’ve seen lots of complaints about CVA Accura MRX having choked barrels. I can vouch for that I have a .50 cal MRX and the first six inches of the barrel is probably.001 smaller than rest of barrel.

Zip Tie was choked a little but it was fixable with a little elbow grease.
Loud Mouth was perfect out of the box.
