I Believe it is a 7/16 deepwell 1/4" drive

I don't know about the scout, but I will add this caveat. I got a TC Encore SML build from Jeff. He suggested the deepwell socket for HIS plug removal. It did not work. The issue was that the thickness of the socket would not it to enter far enough to engage the plug. It turned out that the plug size was the same as for the regular Encore muzzleloader. I ended up using a TC plug wrench. I don't know the specifics of your gun, but you might want to make sure a deepwell socket will work with your gun.

Yep, 7/16" deepwell 1/4" drive works on mine. I leave the ejector in it. I use small piece of metal &/or just a utility knife (blade) to hold it down when re-installing it

7/16” deep well socket with a magnet glue inside using a 1/4” ratchet works in my Scout.

Thanks for the info on holding it down, I used a small screw driver. it works great. What is best for the plug threads? ?

I use WD-40 dry lube. Spray it on with zero mess to deal with.

Tar Forget the antiseize, not needed on these shoulder plugs, it makes one heck of a mess that's hard to clean. I use spray white lube sparingly, any good lube will work, never had a plug stick.
