I been reading the thread about barrel profiles and got an idea..
Does anyone have a 45 caliber barrel that they consider to be junk? If so I would like to blow it up!!!!!
I want to know how much 4198 it will take to blow the barrel, I would also like to see what a double load will do,, So I could use two barrels if there are any to be donated.
I will do a video on the process so everyone can learn and see what happens...
If any of you have a JUNK barrel please let me know...
Thanks....

Just thinking, if someone had a barrel they ringed or bulged, this could work, I've had them and eventually threw them away, Ray

Just a thought,,, jeff, maybe when you order a barrel from a barrel maker you know, maybe you could ask if they had some junk ones around..and maybe they would donate a couple,..

It would also to nice to see what the break open guns could handle before failure. Something like a Bergara 45-70 conversion.

Jeff................I will donate my Pac-Nor 26" barrel that had some 3500 rounds thru it. I probably will have no use for it. I will get it out to you this coming week.

Jeff..........I will send it up along with my Kentucky Challenge check attached to the barrel! If Johnnywadd wants to send up a barrel also, you could use one for an "overcharge" and one for a "double charge?" You can also get a feel on my barrel as to the looseness I was experiencing prior to putting the Brux barrel that the guys bought me.

For different scenarios so please send johnny's barrel also. Tell Johnny thanks for barrel #2

When the barrel blows it will most likely destroy the action as well, so if we test an Apex to failure it will get costly... When testing the other barrels I don't plan on destroying the test action.

Very interested in seeing the tests I wish I had a spare barrel to give. Any good barrels I had I gave to members on the other board. It would be interesting to see the difference between CM and SS. To really answer all the questions it would take a lot of barrels. Savage Remington Brake open cm SS etc.? The other thing is if the barrel is junk was it because of a double load wore out or what ever. In that case it is already stressed? Watching with interest.

There is usually a lot of discussion on what is safe in them vs a bolt gun.

Provided enough barrels were donated one could be spun down to size and the scope mount holes spotted in as well. This would still fit the remmy action and assimilate the encore/apex

How do you blow up a barrel safely? Have you done this before? Just curious how you go about this so nobody gets hurt.
