My last deer for the year 303 HC @2900 mv 120 yds pic is offside entry behind shoulder on opposite side I've had to turn Hillbill in for using a cannon on a deer. The authorities should have him in the hoooskow shortly.

Well look at the bright side, it didn't suffer long and it made the field dressing job easier.

Ohio muzzlerloader season doe at 90 yards with a CVA Hankins conversion with 8” cut off the barrel using 4227, DI and Pittman 275. I shot down hill and hit her just behind the right shoulder and it exited somewhere out the bottom of her stomach with no meat lost. No field dressing required, found the gut pile 10 feet from where I shot her. Deer ran 100 yards through the thickest brush it could find. I was crawling on my hands and knees for 80 yards following the blood trail.

This is a good example of good shot placement. This angle was chose by Mark to verify the effect, yes? You are correct Dennis. It’s all about shot placement.

This will be my last picture post for the 22/23 meat pole thread. I saved the best for the last, deer number 13. I was hunting with “Loud Moth” using a CVA Hankins conversation, a black and blue Scout. Using a 275 grain Pittman bullet setting on a light charge of 53.5 grains of 4227 with no wad using a large rifle primer. I’m pushing the bullet @ 2450 fps. Recoil is very light compared to what some guy are shooting out of their break action. Shot was only 40 yards but highly effective with no meat loss other than the tongue…..DRT. She was dead before she hit the ground. Hopefully next year I’ll be putting a muffler on the old girl to quite her down just a bit! The first two pictures is how she laid on the ground before it was tagged in. boondock saints wallpaperTill next year……..
