Was looking to upgrade my muzzleloader this year and was looking at the CVA Paramount. After some reasearch, and a 45 minute chat with Kyle Pittman I decided to spend some extra cheddar and get a SML. Inventory was scarce and hunting season is around the corner I was lucky to find a smith that had a prebuilt gun for sale.
I was given two load recipes but really want to do my own testing as well. I was hoping to get some input on how you go about testing new rifles with various projectiles and powders. I currently have 300s that came with the build but would like to develop some lighter bullet loads as well since I'm I. FL and the deer aren't huge. Do you test groups by the grain? Ie: 91gr, 92gr, etc. or use smaller increments? Should I keep the muzzle velocity below a certain speed? Does that vary for different powders?
This is my first SML and be confident in what I'm doing before hitting the range this weekend. Thanks for any input and advice.

Going to need a little more info. Plug? Modules? Powder chamber size? Manufacturer’s name of your bullets?
