OK, I've been beating my head against the wall long enough. Does anyone know if there is a 34 mm scope ring that will fit a Weaver-style base? I know the weaver rings will work on a Picatinny rail, but not the other way around. And I'll be darned if I can find anything in a 34 mm ring that isn't specifically for a Picatinny rail.
Maybe I'm not looking in the right place? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try looking up Richard Near (Near manufacturing) www.nearmfg.com/. He may be able to help. His stuff is not cheap but most guys I know that use his rings really like them.

IF you want to put them on a smokeless gun and are using a heavy scope it would likely pay you to change the base to a Pic rail and then use a good ring. The only rings I use are 6 screw Night Force Ultralights, not cheap but they will hold any scope out there with the 18 inch lbs most scope manufacturers recommend, never had a scope slip with these, ever. no matter how heavy the load/bullet combo.

Not going on a SML. Long story short the rifle has a fixed weaver-style base, and making alterations would be more hassle than would be worth the time I have to invest in the project (for now).
D819, those might work. Will investigate further...

Warnes Moutain Tech and Althon Precision 34mm rings should fit weaver bases. Warnes makes those for Athon.
