It has been kind of a weird spring, cold and rain, even snow. I killed one here in Tn at 33 degrees and snowing, I was about to freeze my tail off, only my 2nd bird ever when snow was falling. Killed a nice bird in KY on Friday, called him about half a mile and after about an hour of strutting and drumming he finally got close enough to seal the deal. My heaviest bird ever, didn't have my scales with me but I'm guessing between 26-27 Lb 1 1/8" spurs and 11"+ beard, good hunt. trees are just now putting on leaves, about 2 weeks behind schedule, same in KY.
congrats on a nice bird, you grow them big up there.
