Got to go to Tenn. again this year to hunt with my older brother Keith and Mark C. went also and was gracious enough to drive. (Thanks for that Mark) We had a very successful week at filling coolers full of meat. On Sat. morning my nephew Andy and his wife Micah joined in. We took 15 deer in 5 days and I had a great time hunting with family, I mean you too Mark. I am not good at posting pictures but Mark may put some up which show the devastation of Pittman bullets. We were going for meat and not trophy's though I missed a good buck Fri. eve. (Whaa) not the first time so I'll live. I was shooting my Scout with 2 different Hornady bullets,240xtp mag, and 245 interlock. Both did make very lethal wound channels @ around 2560fps. Mark was shooting Wild Bill his 40. Great time.

Sounds like a great time. Congrats to everybody! 240 xtp mags have put down several for me as well over the years.

I cringe seeing you drag the one with a strap around your hand. Thats tough work!
My buddy turned me on to a ski handle and rope setup. I thought it was hokey at first since I hate dragging anymore. But I found a product online, "Glens deer handle" and it works great!
I still use a cart or a jet sled, but the handle is compact if not going too far.
Looks like fun fellas! Congrats again.

Didn't drag them more than 40-50 yds then a cart or 4 wheeler.

Added a few more pictures. The picture of the two deer together is how Dennis found them after getting out of the stand. The top picture is hanging and cleaning the deer in the field using the upper part of their tree stand to skin and debone the meat and picking it out in their back pack.

I took my 40 cal smokeless muzzleloader I call Wild Bill to Tennessee on the trip with Dennis and his brother. I saw deer 3 out of the 5 days of hunting. The gun weighs under 10 pounds without a scope and it’s a dream to shoot with very little recoil using Kyle’s 250 grain Pittman AccuMax, wool wad and H4895. I’m pushing the bullet at 2993 FPS and it’s devastating on the deer. The wound channel was very lethal. All my shots were under 40 yards. Out of the 5 deer I shot, I only lost one front shoulder because the deer was quartering away from me and I didn’t hold back far enough. 3 out of the 5 deer dropped in their tracks and the other two only ran 20 yards. I had a great time hunting with Dennis and his brother and it was the first time hunting in Tennessee. It was very nice to get to hunt with someone I shoot with at the Kentucky Challenge and now I have two new hunting partners.

And the best part of the whole trip. Nothing like bacon wrapped back straps and pan fried meat rolled in flour and seasoning. One down and more to go...... Attachments:

Mark is a good friend, that helped me drag deer and this old man up out of the woods. Some folks would drag the deer and leave the old man in the woods.
