Is there any advantage, pro's or con's between the two Hankins breech plugs with the single shot CVA 45/70 conversion, (HIS or DIS) what are your thoughts and thanks for your time!! to add, a friend here has one with the DIS and others have the HIS understand that the DIS uses less powder, and that it also requires a wrench to install and remove. what about MV or trajectory.....

DI is a hotter ignition. DI eliminates the need for an extractor making it easier to remove your breach plug. Same velocity less powder equal trajectory. I feel DI is less likely to need a wad.

I know many are going to disagree but here goes. Why would you ever want to put a bushing in your flame path? I sure don’t want it there. Yes it might be nice to just pull your module and not have to put a travel module in every night but when it matters the most when I pull the trigger I do not want a bushing restricting my flame path. Direct Ignition for me even in my bolt gun. Certainly not saying HIS won’t shoot many on here have proven that fact.

Joel knows his stuff and I agree with him but... I do like the HIS just for the ease for hunting. That being said I've been considering a DI plug to play with.

I use both kind of ignition systems. Each has their own advantages.
I run the DI plug in my CVA Scout “Zip Tie” break action. I removed the extractor so I can remove the plug without disassembling the gun. Easy to clean and a hotter flame channel. The downside is I have to carry a tool to remove and reinstall the module when I’m hunting.
My “Monroe” 45 cal bench gun I use the DI modules. I have to remove the bolt to remove and install the DI module. Not that big of a deal once you get use to it and having the proper tools to do it quickly during a timed match.
In my hunting 40 cal gun “Wild Bill” I use the HIS modules. It very easy to remove and reinstall the models with just your finger and no tools are required.
It’s up to the person that pulling the trigger what models they want to use. No matter which module you chose, you still have to work up a load for that plug and module combo.
Both will get it DONE with the proper setup.

Buckeye68 is right on the mark! I only shoot a bolt gun and don't hunt with it. For me? Hands down, I will take the DI. I have fifty steel modules that I have been using over and over probably 75 loadings on EACH module and my primers seat just as firm as when new. Never have to be concerned if my bushing is wearing out either. With just a small nut driver in your pack, you are good to go hunting......And, how many times has anyone had to do a quick reload? The HIS is a good system and I do carry a breech plug and brass modules in my load box, just never use them unless I am doing some type of comparison test. For me, velocity testing shows it takes about two more grains of powder to achieve the same velocity I get with the DI. Either way, you have the best ignition systems out there.

Hope this question is in the right place What is the difference and advantages between LRP's and LRMP I see where one must specify which at time of sale Does this apply with DIS or HIS

I think there is a different thread that addresses this specifically.

Hope this question is in the right place What is the difference and advantages between LRP's and LRMP I see where one must specify which at time of sale Does this apply with DIS or HIS In my opinion the difference between LRP and LRMP is like a V6 and a V8 engine. The V6 will get it done most of the time but when you have a heavy load the V8 is a better option. The only way to find out which is better for your setup is to test each primer. Of course any changes you make to your load you will have to work up a load and see what it likes the best. Some guys like myself will just go with the most fire power possible in this case it is the LRMP. More power in the V8 is better just like more fire is better in most cases. At the end of the day pick a primer and work a load up and if shoots bugs holes then you choose the right primer.
