Conditions this morning were great so we went to the 1,000 yard range . I wanted to test my heavy gun to see if I got anymore fliers. I tested the same load with JLK bullets and shot a nice 4.9 inch 10 shot group then I tried the same load I used in the World Open with Vapor Trail bullets boy If I could figure out what's going on this load could set a new record. 9 shots in 2.9 inches and one going out of the group to the 9 ring which made it a 5 inch group that really pissed me off.

When you stop and think about it that one bullet that when high into the 9 ring only had to go 10fps faster than the other 9 shots. Maybe that bullet had a better BC than the others or it simply comes down to a condition change during that 10 shot string if you notice the two other high shots in the 10 ring were also out of the group. All I can do is keep plugging away there are a bunch of guns on our range that are capable of going into record territory but you also need a very healthy dose of luck riding with you to set a record. 99% of the time the wind will blew your groups out but 1% of the time it can blow them in to help set a record.
