I recently bought some brass and there were many different head stamps in the lot. I now have a good supply of Lake City brass but some are marked LC match. I dont see any difference in primer pockets and have yet to cut one to measure wall thickness. Is there any difference? I also have a bunch that have WAR 68 stamped in them and I'm pretty sure they are 7.62x51. Any info on these head stamps greatly appreciated. I've figured out that when it comes to .308 brass there is quite the GARBAGE SALAD out there! thanks again Dave.

Curious about your question. Have you checked for weight consistency between the match and non match cases? I would think the match cases would have a less deviation than the non match?

Nope, haven't done that yet but I will. The cases that I have with WAR 68 were miss stamped that the fella bought in the early 70's at a gun show. they are Winchester cases. Now that all my brass is all clean I'll have to do some investigating.

I believe standard ball ammo was loaded with a 147gr projectile. I believe Match was loaded with a 172gr projectile.

Ya know times are tuff when people are diggin out antique components to sell! The fella I bought all this stuff from said most of it was from the late 60's early 70's. I'm certain this brass will serve me well. Now, to design my annealing apparatus!?!

I know what I paid for it. Can only imagine what it would fetch these days. And people say gold is a good investment... Lol. Ammo is a heck of a lot easier to sell than gold!
