Hey, folks! Just signed up here after ordering one of Jeff’s Scout conversions this past Tuesday. Wanted to say hello and if there’s anything I need to know about smokeless muzzleloaders (this one in particular) I’ll take all the info I can get as I am brand new to this. Already considering a Boyd’s stock ‘upgrade’ for the Scout. Anybody here do that?

Welcome Deputy819. Yes I had a Scout that I put a Boyds stock on , it works and looks great. I believe they have a thumbhole style now also.

Decided to have the factory stock Cerakoted in ‘Kryptek’ and just got it back today and started shooting this thing, finally. If I could figure out how to post pictures to this thread I certainly would. Can somebody help out with that?🤔

Decided to have the factory stock Cerakoted in ‘Kryptek’ and just got it back today and started shooting this thing, finally. If I could figure out how to post pictures to this thread I certainly would. Can somebody help out with that?🤔 I created a postimage account for posting pictures. It doesn't cost anything. Upload the pictures to your postimage account, then copy and paste the "hotlink for forums." |

 Played around with it a little today using the ‘recommended charge’ of 65gr IMR 4198 and 2 different types of 275gr Fury bullets. I’m perfectly happy with this level of accuracy for strictly a ‘deer thumper’. Can’t help but wonder what might tighten these groups up a little, though. Cold bore velocity check with the V3 bayonet said 2591 fps. |

Thats a good looking rifle and some fine shooting.... You shouldn't have any problem taking deer with that rig....

Welcome to the forum! By the looks of you avatar, you must be law enforcement! I retired from a PD in NJ with 28 years on the job. I now reside in NC for the past 21 years. I normally post shooting results almost every week but this summer I got into some precision rimfire and have taken a little break from my SML. Go back a couple months on the forum and you can pick up on my posts.
