Keith wrote: I have used the Boyd's Tacticool and a McMillan A3 on SML in the past two years. The Boyd's stock is heavier but has a little bit of a Monte Carlo combe while the McMillan has a higher comb which centers the recoil a bit better. That McMillan is a standard fill but on my Dedicated Slug Gun I had the Magnum Fill done and you could opt for the SNIPER fill if you wanted the extra weight. I know Luke used a Game Scout on an SML and it worked but it is a little light in the forearm for me for that use.
I don't have a Manners on an SML but I use one on my PRS rifles. I like the T6A because I hate fat forearms (same reason I use the A3 from McMillan instead of the A5). My partner shoots the T4A and loves the fat forearm. Manners stocks feel more solid to me than a McMillan and Tom Manners has the best customer support in the business. I love his Mini-Chassis also and have found it provides as good a platform as well bedded gun but gives me the ability to swap actions in one stock that FITS ME PERFECTLY. If my gun went down in a match I would rather borrow a different barreled action and put it in my stock than put my barreled action in a borrowed stock (assuming the failure allowed me the choice). If I were buying one for a hunting gun I would look at the EH line: I like the EH1-A and the TA. I'm an advocate of the adjustable comb because nearly everyone runs a large optic and without the adjustable comb you don't get a good weld which causes a couple of problems for the shooter.
It all comes down to your budget and desires really. You can build a light gun on a Boyd's (mine is 1 oz under 10 lbs) which is considerably cheaper than a McMillan EDGE or Manners Elite Carbon. You can build an accurate and reliable gun on any of them. I know they are popular here but I personally do not like the thumb-hole and would caution against them if you use anything over a 40mm obj and low mounts.

Thanks Rambler... Was that hard to copy and paste? No harder than pulling a trigger LOL Left click and hold while dragging cursor over subject matter to be copied and it will be highlighted. Let up on left click while highlighted hit the control key and C at same time to copy, then navigate to area you wish to copy to and hit control V to paste. Easy peazy.

Thanks Rambler... Was that hard to copy and paste? No, it wasn't hard to copy and paste. I just try to avoid double posting everything I type just because people can't get along. I double post things that originate with me and need to be seen on both boards which I try to limit to my bullets. There are also topics I feel like I have answered enough to sound like like a broken record. If you have been on either board for long I think people people know where I stand on certain features. That said I will do you the courtesy of copying everything over since inquiring minds may have been banned.

I have two Manners stock on Savage guns one is a T5A that has my Savage ML on it, it works well on making the gun a little easier to shoot. I also have a T2A that I have my rifle that I shoot local long range and tactical shoot with. Both stocks are nice and both have aluminium mini chassis in them.

I think Manners is probably most popular in PRS right now. McMillan used to be a couple of years ago. Real Tactical matches are usually team oriented and you see an even mix of gas guns and bolts. We finally got a Tactical division in our local PRS and DMM venue since there are very few Tactical matches around anywhere. I have to travel to KY in January to compete in one and even it had three classes and only one of them comes close to tactical. As the MD explained there are not enough fit guys in armor who want to get smoked to warrant running such a match around here and we probably have more of that type than anywhere else in the Estados Unidos. Where are you shooting matches? I'm allowed to shoot up to two matches a month but it requires some leg work to get funding, ammo, and vehicles.

Rayner's Range in Blue Rock,Ohio has their annual Snipers Match in April 1,2 and 3. It's a one day match that is probably one of the most challenging in the surrounding states. They also have a monthly long range shoot out to 1000yds with different size targets at each distance worth different point values. Them there is Thunder Valley Precision , they have a head hunter course with 6X9 targets out to 600yds. 1 shot 1 kill 20 targets 20 shots. The course has only been shot clean 1 or 2 times in like 9 years.
