Always have to have a project going on to keep occupied and they passed high powered rifles in my county recently too so I bought one of these stainless scouts in 6.5 CM to play with. Just got the leupold vx freedom 4-12x40 mounted and semi sighted in thursday but I was only shooting from the truck seat using the mirror for support, it was too shakey and could only accomplish 2" group like that with norma whitetail 140 gr. ammo. this Scout has a great trigger and a more slender barrel than my 45-70 conversion, but it has good heft to it still. kip

I paid 459.00 for it online as they are hard to find in this caliber right now.

They are nice guns. I was looking for awhile for one, and never did come across the right one.
My boss recently got the Cascade, their new bolt action. It is a fine looking gun.
Indiana has adopted hpr on private land. So my joy of sml's has slowed up some.
CVA has come a long way with their stuff recently. I'm sure you will enjoy it.

been a while since I have been on here, have been reloading for this 6.5 cm scout using hammer bullets which are all copper and it has been challenging because have had to learn the ins and outs of reloading and also the scarcity of components. starting to zero in on a load for this gun using the hammer 117gr. shock hammer bullet and Varget powder. 40 gr.of Varget and cci 200 primers looked good after I went to a body die and body and neck sizing die with bushing and increased my neck tension, also using a lee factory crimp die for a light crimp. will report with any progress. shooting during the summer is tough. kip

With the component shortage, I am holding off any recreational shooting. Getting into the pcp air gun game now. Pellets are still cheap and its plenty fun.

I’ve been looking at the pcp air guns for the last couple of weeks myself.

If this keeps up, we'll all be doing the same...

I am in it for under $500 so far. Air Venturi Avenger ($349), Hatsan Tactair hand pump ($125), Crosman Premier hollow point pellets from Walmart ($6/500). Having a ball with it so far. It will be in the squirrel woods soon as well.

yesterday the cva scout in 6.5 creedmoor started to shine with the 117 gr. hammer shock hammer copper bullet 39 gr. of varget and believe it or not a federal m215 large magnum rifle primer. 1" 4 shot group off a card table at 100 yds. the 110 gr.hammer hunter bullet also showed promise with the same powder load and primer. 2 shots on a cool barrel and then waite 10-15 min was the trick too.

2925 fps with this load yesterday with the 117 gr hammer SH bullet and the 39 gr. of varget. had an off day with my shooting. couldnt seem to get good and steady on that card table, lol 1 1/4" group but I had played with bullet seating depth also and believe that may have hurt the groups. anyway just doing some shooting and getting the barrel broken in in the process, at about 75-80 rounds down the tube already.
