Getting ready to pop for one of these. Either the S-TAC 3-16x42 duplex or the Veracity 3-15x50 FFP. Mostly just for recreation but i may leave it on for hunting also. Its going on a Mountaineer 45 1-20 twist with a Murphy base and TPS XRT rings so im pretty much locked into the mounts im going to use.
Anyone owned both and how would you compare the turrets, glass quality and durability? The loads i shoot wont be higher than a 300gr at about 2100fps but probably a little slower. That would be the max load. FFP is not a deal breaker. Its just the only way Burris offers that reticle in the Veracity 3-15 and im not fond of the other reticle that is offered. Natchez has a really good deal on the Veracity blems atm.

Not sure about the Burris, but the windage turret cover on the Sightron S-Tac was to large for my Savage 220. The shells wouldn't extract properly. I still have the Sightron, but put a Leupold vx5hd on the slug gun just incase I blow a scope on the smokless rigs. The S-tac will eventually go on my AR or 22-250.

It does stick out pretty far. Luckily i dont have to worry about shells ejecting. It might make loading a primer harder but i got an idea for a little tool to make it easy. I like the tall elevation turret but they really didnt need it for the windage IMO. The scope seems well made and the clicks are really good for this price range. I would say the glass itself is pretty similar to VX3i. Kinda heavy for a scope this size but not horrible. The Optika6 is around 5oz more for a similar magnification.
