just joined the board today. plan on building apex 45-70 smokeless asap. tried savage did not like it. built pac nor 45 on new rem action worked well. sold it so now its time for another build.hello to all .claymanjack my handle. shoot lots of sporting every year 15000 12ga. shoulder getting tired.

Welcome to the board! Jeff Hankins of Hankins Custom Rifles does an awesome conversion for the CVA Apex .45-70 to SML with the HIS ignition system. This system uses a unique breech plug that accepts primer modules made of brass that hold a large rifle or large rifle magnum primer. Primes and de-primes quickly with no tools. A great choice for a woods and medium range deer gun no doubt.

New Member. Just bought a Hankins Loader. Super pumped to get it. Tired of hitting deer and not getting a blood trail. I think this should do the trick.

Welcome, I have an apex conversion on order. I think that is hard to beat with price, accuracy, and range. Good compromise
