Muzzleloading has been a passion of mine since I was 10 years old shooting a cap and ball .54 TC Hawken. Back then I thought I had the best equipment available, but as time went on I upgraded to several in-lines along the way before taking the leap into smokeless in 2014. Since Pittman Bullets began on January 1st 2016, I have always strived to offer the best bullets that I possibly can for High - Performance Muzzleloading. The AccuMax .452" was the flagship design of Pittman Bullets. This design has proven in the filed and on paper for several years now. Many improvements have been made along the way with the introduction of the Aeromax .452's, AccuMax .402's and the Aeromax .402's. These bullets have opened the doors for many looking to shoot at extended ranges previously not even considered. One particular aspect that I been focused on is improving the tightness and engagement of the tips for the AccuMax and Aeromax series. This has been a top priority with a lot of head scratching, hair pulling, tossing and turning to offer a better bullet to send down range. Mission Accomplished. On October 28th 2019 my patent lawyer filed a utility patent on my behalf for a "Rotation Inhibited Projectile Tip". On that filing date I could have made, but was not required legally to make, a claim of patent pending status. I am pleased to announce that this patent was granted today, February 16th 2021. Going forward, bullets utilizing this patent will be packaged accordingly. All bullets offered by Pittman Bullets going forward will utilize this exclusive patented technology. Below is a link to my patent at the USPTO website for those interested. Thank You Guys! Good news, you have built a much better mousetrap and proved it works, great success will surely continue to follow you. Thanks for all that you have done for the smokeless community. I wouldn't have a good shooting 40 cal if it wasn't for you.

I, too, appreciate your bullets. After reading the patent, I have a new respect for my son-in-law, a patent attorney/chemical engineer. As his job is doing chemical engineering patents. The wording of your design is very thorough. Did you write most of that or him? If he did, is he an avid shooter? I believe your tips are a bit more sophiscated that the tips on the blemished 200 SSTs/SWs.

I did my research, just like I did when I purchased my first smokeless muzzleloader, and found who I believe is the best Patent Lawyer this side of the Pecos. The communication between he and I was extensive educating him on the design and construction of my bullets and their components. He is not an avid shooter, however I was able to communicate with him extremely well. I filed for 20 claims, all were granted.

Kyle its nice that you got the patent on your tip design. The big problems with patents is they can be copied and you really can't do much about it. I have been involved with a tech company for over 20 years which held many key patents to micro chip design. A company can come along and steal your idea and change it by 1% and claim its a improvement and unless you have really deep pockets and the willingness to endure years of legal battles you will loose. With this company were talking about hundreds of million dollars in your case your dealing with a small market.
So call it a personal victory.
