Anyone tried either in an SML or are they too fine a powder?

As long as it doesn't fall through your bushing it should work. I have never used either powder I believe it falls between H4895 and Varget when used in a some rifle case like a BR. or PPC.
I have used H4895 and Varget but both require powder charges above 100grs I would not recommend that for any small shank or break action guns. I have tested a bunch of powders some work better than others but for now beggars can't be choosers. So some of the over looked powders might be a option for now. I use a lot of 10X it might be sitting somewhere. Imr 3031 IMR 4320 IMR 4064 IMR 4166 all work but all require a hefty charge. I don't like all ball powders or very fine spherical powders for the muzzleloader

They are #69&74 on the burn rate chart and I&H4198 are 75&76. What I read about them is they have a quicker rise to peak with less pressure (in a cartridge rifle) That is why I was interested as a possibility. If I put my hands on some to try before I buy I may start down low charge and see where it goes. I would be using DI and if it gets into the module I'm out with these two.
