I have 4 powders available to load 308 IMR 4064,4320,3031and 4895. I've seen posts on other boards that 4320 is the VARGET of old? I know it's not as fast as Varget but a lot of posts saying it's very good in the 308 has me curious. Obviously I wont know if it works for me unless I use it. Anybody got any experience with this powder?

I don't have exp. with that 308cal. but I have most often done best with whatever powder would give me a full case or compressed. That was with 30-06 and 7mag. I have used 4895 in 30-06, I have not reloaded for 308. I have a friend who uses 4064 in a few different cal. rifles. I would probably with 308 opt for 4064 or 4895. Just my 2cents that ain't worth a nickel.

Varget for me in 308. Have used H4895 as well, and a buddy uses BLC2. 4320 runs pretty much the same as Varget by the numbers. Depends on your bullet weight too. My guns have always shot bullets on the light end the best, and kill deer just fine for me. 125-150gr

I tested 4064 with Hornady bullets and the performance was awesome on paper. I have 50 Nosler 165gr B-tips that I'm saving for deer hunting. With varget availability at zero I was thinking the 4320 might shine a little better? The farthest shots I have are 350yds so I don't need 1k accuracy but I'd like it!
