Purchased a wilderness ridge in a 6.5 prc.Ive owned a bunch of centerfire rifles and have never had the problem I'm having with this one. Ive only shot hornady ammo out of it as thats all i can find locally.Within 2 shots the bottom of my scope is white just like shooting a muzzleloader with pyrodex and more smoke from the muzzle than any centerfire I've ever shot.IS it just the ammo or what could be the problem?

Probably the ammo. I have shot 6.5/284's for many years which is basically the same as the PRC. Hornady went down a rabbit hole with the PRC requiring a mag. bolt face on the action. That limits people to only using certain cartridges. That is one of the main reasons it has not grown in popularity. It doesn't do anything better than a 6.5/284 will do and there is way better loaded ammo avaible for the 6.5/284 also barrel life is not great on any of the hotter 6.5 rounds.
