Shot a buck tonight at 150 yards . I heard the bullet hit him , he reared straight up on his hind legs almost flipping over . When he came down took off running dragging left leg. He got into a nasty CRP patch no blood. What do you think of the hit ? Going back in the morning.

had a friend of mine locally call me with just about exactly what you descibed- he recovered later as he walked by previously within 50ft.
go back-take direction deer was traveling when hit, think you will find him within 200yds/quite common!
hope you find him!/good luck!

Thanks Deadeye. I've shot a ton of deer in my life and never had one react that way. The CRP he ran into is pretty tall hopefully I can find some blood .

A drone would be helpful in the recovery process if you have one.

A drone would be helpful in the recovery process if you have one. Good idea. We do have a drone we use on the farm for crop scouting in the summer.

Well it ended up being a bad shot on my part. Jumped the deer the next day very little blood in his bed. Kicking myself but it happens. At least he's still alive for now .
