Well I am glad I didn't call Krieger yesterday but I had planned on calling them today so I thought I would look at this barrel again. I had cleaned the barrel and used JB paste on it which I often do. I also flushed out the barrel with carb spray and then ran some patches through it and I even use compressed air. Well apparently that isn't good enough to get JB out of the barrel or Bore teck Eliminator out of a barrel.
Today before I checked the barrel I took some 0000 steel wool and put a small wrap around a 6mm brush and ran that through the barrel a few times and then blew it out with air. When I bore scoped the barrel this time it looked absolutely perfect I was shocked to say the least.
When you look at imperfections inside a barrel under magnification things always appear worse than they actually are put the pitting sure looked real and the heart shape hole in the land looked real and very deep. But they all provided to be a optical illusion. the light from the probe reflects light off the bottom of the steel so if its shinning through a liquid it appears to be pitted its really little air pockets your looking through same goes for the JB the light doesn't shine through it but it makes it look deep. I am really surprised that the carb cleaner did not remove all traces of JB or cleaning solvents it certainly didn't in this barrel. Well so much for that Ill screw it back on and shoot it again.
