I would like to buy an electronic powder measurer. I am looking at the rcbs lite. Does anyone have any experience measuring h4198 with one? Are they accurate? Are there better options in the same price range?

I have had a RCBS Charge Master for a number of years (sold it a year ago and bought a more precise digital scale) and it works fine for the muzzle loader and hunting (CF) loads. If you are into precision benchrest shooting, particularly long range, it will not suffice. For that, you will want an electronic scale that will measure to one hundredth of a grain (which is what I bought)(vs. one tenth). From what I can see from the ad, it looks like it should serve you well for a bit less than the Charge Master.

I've been using the chargemaster lite for both my smokeless muzzleloading as well as centerfire rifle reloading. I also have a digital scale as well but mine only reads to tenths. I've found by checking against my digital scale the chargemaster lite is extremely accurate. I've pretty much gotten out of reloading since I did it for getting the most out of my encore single shot setup in both pistol and rifle. Now the Encore is strictly turkey and smokeless muzzleloader with a MGM bbl with DI and HIS plugs. I've also got a TC Dimension rifle in both 30-06 and 6.5 creedmoor and find that this rifle does very well for hunting purposes with factory ammo. So I picked up the Chargemaster lite to work up loads for the smokeless muzzleloader which takes next to nothing for time once I got my loads dialed in. This is strictly hunting use only and some target shooting but I'm very happy with the chargemaster lite. I have coworkers with the larger Chargemaster but they reload for quite a few different calibers. It takes me roughly 15 mins to load up 50 vials once I get a proven load. I never got the hang of a beam scale and like the ease of dropping a few charges in different grain weights to see what my barrel likes.

Thanks for the feedback. Next question, where is the cheapest place to buy one?

Natchez is normally the best price I've found for the Chargemaster. Best regular price anyway.

After watching several videos on the chargemaster lite I think I'll get one too. I hate doing charges with a 53 yr old redding measure. and with the imr 4198 I shoot I have been really having to chunk that thing so the big grains don't hang it up.

So far I’m enjoying the chargemaster lite. I have only used it one session but it was easy to operate and much faster than weighing each charge on a manual scale.

I have an old RCBS electronic dispenser/ scale combo. I’ve been married for 21 years and I had it several years before that. It still works and I have weighed many charges with it. RCBS puts their name on pretty good stuff. This new one looks to be a good system as well.

the rcbs chargemaster lite came today from natchez and I unpacked it. It is lightweight and small so it's just what I need for my limited space. Maybe tommorrow I'll do a few charges.

I have been torn on spending the money on the original one. But now with good reviews, I think I will get the lite also.

I put it on my desk workspace and leveled it using the built in bubble level, I like that feature.

Found that Natchez has the original Chargemaster on sale for $319 right now. So the fathers day holiday is sending one next week, and scheduled delivery is for my birthday! New present covers two holidays in one! Woohoo!

I weighed out 10 charge tubes of Imr 4198 at 56 gr. on the chargemaster lite and it was dead on every time, confirmed with another scale. never went over or under. Just what I needed. don't leave powder in these things, I saw a video where a guys dad did this and the powder affected the plastic the unit is made of, gave it a pitted texture. I do love this thing though.
