Well we finally open our 1,000 yard range for practice only. Very doubtful if we will hold any matches this year unless the Gov. lifts the 25 limit on outdoor activities. That will suck big time for a lot of shooters but it is what it is.
I loaded up two different loads with the 190gr Hybrid both with RL25 the first (7 ) had 64.5grs and then (10) had 65.0 grs. The 65.0gr load shot a tiny bughole at 100 yards but like so many times before it failed to shoot 10 shots under 10 inches with the load at 1,000 yards. 64.5gr also shot good at 100 yards and it shot much better at 1,000 yards ( 5) out of the (7) were in 4 inches but I had one low shot and one high shot out of the group that came from mixing fired and unfired brass producing different velocities.
So what I learned so far is the barrel doesn't like anymore than 64.5grs of RL25 with the 190gr Hybrid. My next tests will be with RL23 and possibly H1000 I have to wait till Saturday before my local range opens back up. I can test some other powders at 365yards and see what works there. I did chrono (7) shells that were loaded with RL25 and 65.0grs I wanted to see how consistent they were (5) were pretty close at 2935 but I had (2) odd balls 2948 and 2960 fps that's not going to work for serious competition shooting you single digit STD to shoot small.
