I sized Pittman 275 and also Be 275 when loading one handed until I get to last 5" then need both hands very hard once thru that spot one hand to seat. Question is do I need to reset die a little or is that normal. Would think that barrel is not true dia whole length? Thanks in advance I would clean your barrel and either try a wad(if you aren't using one) or don't size you bullets down so small. I had issues with my scout that every other bullet would load different. 1st shot would be an easy one hand load and the next would be a firm two hand load. I adjusted my smooth sizer to not size the bullet down as far and loading became more consistent. I don't think the powder was burning clean due to under sized bullets on a "clean" barrel. Hopefully others will chime in. Do you run your bullet through 3 times rotating it 120° each time? That does make a difference in the consistancy of the loading pressure.

Yes try with and without wads, experiment with sizing to see what it likes.
Normally break actions do not like lead sleds, it will cause a lot of vertical, not just break actions but any gun that is pretty light, the muzzle rises much more than you realize and it's not always consistent causing erratic groups.

I know this is an old thread but I'm just realizing my converted scout with His plug shoots 3/4"- 1" groups with the lighter 250 gr. bullets when using Imr 4227 at a 45 gr. charge and a wool wad. the bullets I have tried so far have been barnes tez 250 and fury crimped 250. these lighter bullets didn't do very good with 4198. On the other hand 54 gr. of 4198 and a 250 gr. saboted bullet does a 1" group. wool wads with the sabot too, light blue smooth. CCI large rifle primers. sized my bullets down kinda loose and then knurled them back up. shooting without brake because I have been testing saboted loads too. Love my converted scout.

and getting away from the ledslead has really helped because I think the ledsleads front rest is too far forward. I went to another rest and slid it back towards the action more and put my hand on top of the front scope ring area. small rear bag.

I would like to try the furys or the pittmans . I have heard that the parkers blow up and and dont usually exit . I would like a hole all the way through . The accuracy with parker is great .

Shot many deer with Pittman 275 Accumax @ about 3,000 FPS from 40 yards to about 300 yards- small does to large old bucks. Most drop in their tracks. None have gone very far at all. Very pleased.

I currently hunt with a TC Encore - 45 cal converted to smokeless by Jeff.
I am shooting HIS modules, 56 grains of 4198, veggie wad and a Pittman 275 AccuMax
I have harvested several large whitetails out to 300 yards with the Pittman 275’s and the majority have dropped in their tracks, with none going further than 20 yards.
Additionally I have found them to be extremely accurate consistently shooting 3/4- 1” MOA all day long.
I had used Parker BE 275s for several years, also harvesting several deer with them as well out to 200 yards. Although the BE’s were accurate and lethal, I felt the Pitman 275’s had better consistent long range accuracy and terminal performance.
Good luck
