I am looking for a jewel trigger in the one ounce to 3 pound range. I have a timmney in it now with about a three pound minimum. Does anyone know where I might find a gently used trigger? Remington 700 rifle.

I don't believe that I have ever come across a used jewel trigger before.

Yes, if you want one, just go ahead and bite the bullet and order it.. Waiting for a sale on one is like waiting one Christmas..

They are indeed fine triggers but as indicated I rarely see them for sale. Most it seems do not want to give them up, I am not sure how you could improve on them.

Good luck on that one. I have never seen a used one for sale by itself. Buy a new one. It only hurts for the time it takes to get it and you will not be disappointed.

Then it hurts again when you need another for another rifle, and then another, and another so on and so on hahahahaha No seriously I searched for a while waiting on a used "deal" all the forums I watched I never was the first guy to read the post, and usually first few readers someone bought it. I finally bit the bullet and have not regretted it since!

I am not sure how you could improve on them. I guess that depends on what you use them for. Why do you actually need a trigger that breaks in single ounches? If you actually need a 2oz trigger you don't use it on a gun that gets used hard and they probably can't be beat. If you use them on a working rifle they can be improved by sticking with a fewer lever design (Achem's Razor) and enclosing them. At that point I think the Timney Calvin Elite is a great trigger as is the Shilen and both can be readily had and turned down pretty low. They aren't triggers for BR guns but they are great triggers for practical rifles. First time I used a Jewell on a 40-X .222 Rem it scared the piss out of me; I was totally unprepared for how light it was. Once I got used to it I shot some of my smallest groups with that gun. I just can't get into the type of shooting that requires me to sit there pressing the fire control button so that rifle went down the line. Since then I have shot a bunch of groups that are very good but with guns I can actually use. They won't win in a BR match but they would scare a BR shooter how close they might get and I can use them out of breath and heart hammering without fear of negligent discharge or mechanical failure if they get dirty in a match/hunt. Either way, there are certain things I don't buy used and triggers are one of them.

I have a 4oz-12oz Jewell on my R700 chambered in 6.5x47 and I won't use a different trigger.
