Just as the subject says ...last summer i came to own a TC pro hunter 6.5 creed barrel .........im not one to follow trends........after some research i sent it off to Jeff had a few discussion as to what to re chamber it to . We decided on 264 win mag . jeff also put a tactical adj brake on it . Finally got around to playing with it some . There a 4x16 that was in shop on it bore sited and ran Factory Hornady ammo 140 grn sp ...im happy to say it shoots dime size groups at a hundred . Now the fun of reloading for it with some eldx and berger bullets and stretch it out a little ....may vary well go to Wyoming with me for an antelope hunt this fall .
jeff thanks for a job well done!!!!!

Nice! The 264 Win Mag may well be the best chambering in that caliber. IF I were going to get into the 264/6.5 game, that would probably be my first choice. Should be first rate for a western antelope hunt, or longer shots at deer.
I know what you mean about trends... I'm fairly grounded in the 20th century (and to be honest, getting a bit grouchy with age). Can't believe all the hype/nonsense over the Creedmoor. Apparently no one can read ballistics tables anymore... LOL

264 re-chamber report ...... after a bit of a head spacing issue on the Encore , a wax mold made of chamber ...which by the way Jeff was deemed perfect. . im no longer splitting brass , and have a 139 grn hornady sp dialed in at 200 at 1 in group or less if i do my part .... now its on to some 143 grain Eldx loads ..... 200 yrds and 400 yrds........

Nice! 1" at 200 is pretty darned good. Hopefully the eldx loads are as accurate. Is it a 1:8 twist?
If its shooting that well, it should be just the ticket for your antelope hunt this fall.

the only down fall i can find in the 264 win mag is brass life ...i get about 4 reloads on a piece of brass , and that is after double checking the head space and down loading , Ive been using winchester brass , may switch to hornady , or something else . this will not b a plinking rifle or somethin i wanna kill alot of paper with ......

Thats kinda rough. I would have expected better brass life. Maybe the Hornady will be better? If you get some different brass, I'd be interested to know if you see an appreciable difference in case life.
