Well it was 81 deg here but I wanted to shoot this gun. I started off with 97grs of RL33 and went up to 101grs I fired a total of 24 shots and the accuracy at 100 yards was really outstanding for a big case with a 300gr bullet. The groups 3 shot groups really didn't change much I keep cleaning the barrel and using one shot for a fouler and one for the chronograph . RL33 seems to be burning all the way down the barrel because it was hot all the way out to the muzzle brake.
97grs gave 2780fps 98grs= 2800 99= 2835 100grs= 2860 101grs= 2893 fps 101grs was just at the shoulder junction no compressed loads and the case only expanded .001 so I know I can safely work up from here since I only plan on shooting it in cooler weather from what I can see 2950fps should be pretty easy to get to as long as it shoots good. My next tests will be at 365 yards then on to 1,000 yards maybe next Sunday.

Tested this morning at 365 yards. I am up to 103.5grs of RL33 and the 300gr SMK no signs of pressure this has given me the best group so far but it had some vertical in it and I don't like vertical groups so I loaded more and up the powder charges from 104grs ------106grs just to see where my max pressure will be. From what I am seeing it should shoot best around 104 to 104.5grs of RL33.That will get me to 3,000 fps maybe a little more time will tell speed is not everything if it doesn't group. I would like to see shots around a inch at 365 yards if it does that it will shoot at 1,000 yards and beyond.

That is great speed if it will group. Please keep us informed with ur testing. I’m stuck on H 1000 and 300 gr Bergers. Only shooting 2800 fps but very accurate. If i run them any faster my primer pockets can’t take it.

Well I shot from 104grs to 106grs this afternoon at 106grs I started to get my first signs of building some pressure no ejector makes just a slight click on the bolt at the top of the opening. These Norma cases are tough. I use Norma in my 300wsm and never have been able t.o wreck any of them. 106grs went 3085fps if have not seen any real improvement in accuracy I have also not seen any decrease in accuracy either.
I going to try some 300gr Bergers next. depending on their diameter and bearing length will determine what powder charge I can shoot. I really don't expect it to shoot 3,100fps I will be happy with 3,099fps with good accuracy. I hoping for 2950 to 3,000 that would be great but I need to see some improvement at 365 yards before I jump out to 1,000 yards. Might be able to test at 1,000 if this improve this week.
The accuracy I am looking for is 5 shots at 1,000 yards 6 inches or less sometimes these big guns and heavy bullets just don't shoot really small groups at shorter ranges its averaging 1.5 inch 3&4 shot groups at 365 yards not bad but I believe it should do better.
