With most of my guns a wad does not hurt and in some cases helps accuracy . I have only had one load which was a large dose of Reloader 16 when eliminating a wad actually helped accuracy . I want to develop my hunting loads with a wad to help avoid moisture and to help ensure ignition .Every gun and load is different . Just have to experiment . That is what makes these guns fun and sometimes frustrating .

Do you glue the wad to the bass of the bullet?

I personally don’t do it. You would stand the chance of not getting it centered. I also believe it would adversely affect bullet flight. I could be wrong but it would take some serious testing of it going perfectly for me to even consider.

I have not glued any wads to the bases. I am sure they would separate from the bullet, but I don't feel it is necessary. I was surprised at how much the wad expands. I found one that was the diameter of a nickel or a little larger and about 2 to 3 times as thick after it was shot. No doubt they seal well. These were wool wads. I haven't had any issues with loading them through the funnel or directly to the barrel of my scout.

Bullet to bore I have gotten my best grouping and highest velocity with every bullet I have tried (mostly mono's but some lead jacket) using a Poly wad apposed to wool, veggie and no wad.
