Well I got around to doing the Edge barrel today I had planned on keeping it a straight 1.250 barrel but then decided to do a taper job to get some weight off the barrel . it finished off at 31 inches plus a brake. It has a 1.250 shank for 6 inches then tapers down to 1.110 still fairly heavy but it should help control the whip of that big 300gr going down the barrel at 4,000 fps yeah right if I get good accuracy around 2860 2900 I will be happy.
The reamer I bought was supposed to have a longer throat for the 300gr but it is still to short for my taste so I plan on throating it out another .100 or more to get the bullet out were I want it this is a single feed gun so COAL is not a problem.
I have H1000 RL 25 and RL 33 plus some surplus stuff that has always worked in big mag's probably won't get to shoot it till the weekend.

Can't wait for the report on performance. I loved H1000 in my 7mag.

It seems like H1000 is the go to powder for the Edge we shoot a .338 Ultra mag with RL33 and it does real well time will tell. A few good choice out there for this canon.

Well I got my throating reamer and throated the Edge out for the 300gr SMK putting the boat tail at the neck shoulder junction this way to long to be feed through a mag. but I shoot the gun as a single shot. I loaded up RL33 since I had more of it on hand. The first test will be mainly to break the barrel in and find out how much powder this barrel will handle everyone is different.
