So guys, this is what the Kentucky Challenge is all about! A bunch of really nice guys (we have had a few girls and women in the past, but not this time except for Mindy-Hanks lovely wife and score keeper!) getting together to BS about a sport we all love. The informal match we run is just that! Very informal, our own simple rules, nothing registered with any associations. We sort of determine a winner based on a very small sample of shots fired at each yardage: 100, 200, 300 and 400 yards. Before and after our little match, most are more interested in shooting steel targets out to 440 yards and most of all, EATING!!!!! If you have never come to one of these shoots, mark your calendar for the Saturday after Easter for our spring shoot. If you live close enough, Hank runs a one day winter "Polar Bear" shoot in January or February (to be announced). Six hours and 400 miles is just a bit too far for me to make a one day shoot but I am planning to be back in April for my 10th. shoot. I guarantee that you will learn more here about smokeless muzzleloading in a weekend than you can imagine. You will see top of line equipment and get a ton of information.
