 Several years back I bought a Vortex Diamondback HP 4-16x42 for my break action smokeless gun at the recommendation of another forum member. Can't remember exactly what I paid for it but I think it was right around $300 plus. I ended up liking this scope so much that I thought I would buy another one to replace the 3-9x40 VariX3 on my .270 Win deer rifle. I was disappointed when I found out that scope was discontinued and couldn't find another one. For kicks and giggles I googled the model number of that scope this morning. Come to find out Midway USA has some of them in stock for $199.99. Looks like the .270 will be getting some new glass after all. |

I picked up a couple of them from sportsmans warehouse early this year. Drove to Lexington, KY to get them. They weren't this cheap... Figures. LOL
The first one is sitting on a Ruger 450. Second one is going on the next one...

Mine arrived today. My old beater 270 win. 700 series mountain rifle now has new glass. I bought this mountain rifle back in 1986 when Remington first released 'em. This little gun has been thru hell and back but still shoots great. The new scope will help my aging eyes for sure.  |

Midway only has 5 left in stock. When I looked 5 hours ago there were 23 in stock. Better get it now if you want one. Man I'd like to get another myself, it's just not in the budget for the moment.

There are some great deals on a couple Vortex scopes right now on Midway. The two that caught my eye are:
Viper HS 6-24X 50mm, side focus, BDC reticle, 30mm tube. On sale for $379, regular price $599
Viper HS 4-16X 44mm, side focus, V-Plex reticle, 30mm tube. On sale for $299, regular $539.
I just ordered the Viper 6-24. It also came with a free set of Vortex Viper rings, a $60 value, and free shipping. Total was $408 with tax and NRA Roundup. Nearly a $300 savings.
I believe this is a closeout deal Vortex made to unload "Gen I" models? I see they're releasing a lot of "Gen II" products. For the $300 I saved I'll survive with a perfectly good Gen I model.
If you are interested get them while they last.

Those are some great deals for sure. I would have jumped on that 4-16 Viper-HS had it been a BDC reticle.

My 6-24 viper HS and free rings arrived today. It's now sitting atop my Savage Stealth in 6.5 creedmore. Just have to get it to the range and zeroed in. It's my go to rifle when there's a coyote or some other critter I need to reach out and touch.
