Well I got to test these expensive bullets this evening in my 6.5/284 1-7 twist barrel using 49.5grs of RL16 and 49.8grs with ne Lapua brass. According to Hornady's BC of .704 at 2960 fps I should have got on at 1000 yards with 22.4 MOA of elevation from 100 yards I got dead on with 22.2 MOA which means their BC claim of .704 is very accurate. At least that part is accurate the bullets not so much. the first 10 shot group was ugly using 49.5grs of powder 49.8grs was better I had 6 out of the 10 in 5 inches the rest were shattered better than the first group less vertical. but not what I want to see in a group. Maybe with a little more powder and playing with seating depth they might shot smaller I don't know the gun is very competitive with the 142gr SMK so I see no need to waist anymore time any money on these. It seems like every bullet Hornady makes shoots well say out to 600 yards but I don't know of anyone shooting them in 1000 yard competition any winning relays or matches.
I shot my 300 WSM this evening because I removed a troublesome Night Force scope I put a new Sightron 10x50x60 on and it was super sharp at 1,000 yards I had one a few years back and I didn't like it because it had a plan cross hair this has the .125 dot. this gun shot 10 shots in 6 inches I thought conditions were better than that but that was the best group shot this evening and there were some good guns there.
