Well Saturday was windy to say the least at there were a lot of big 10 shot groups and there several that didn't have 10 on the paper. I Shot my 6.5/284 only because of the wind normally I would have used my 6mm Dasher at any rate I came in second for group in my relay with a 11.6 inch group but a low 69 score that sucked. Today conditions were better so I shot my Dasher with 103gr Vapor Trail bullets and won my relay for score with a 96 an a 8 inch group all in the blue on the target.
For the shoot off I used my other Dasher and had the Hornady 110gr A-Tip bullets loaded I did not have a chance to test them at 1K but I went with those anyway. I compared the 103gr bullets to the 110gr bullets on the sighter target the Hornady's shot a foot flatter which was pretty amazing I came in second in the shoot off with a 94 out of 100 score #1 went high up in the 7 ring I don't really now why but it ruined a nice group an a higher score to win the match. I still have some left to test but here is the problem they sell for $64.00 per 100 Vapor Trails are $50.00 an there a better quality bullet. Just because the Hornady has a higher BC and shoots flatter if it won't keep 10 together they are not good enough to win a match. My barrels have 7.75 twists I truly believe you need a 7.5 or even a 1-7 for long range work with these bullets . I had vertical problems with the Sierra 110gr I do believes suffer from the same problem super long bullets never seem to shoot as well as shorter ones they should be fine for shooting steel plates.
