Had a little time to do a quick test at 100 yards this afternoon the temp. was 80 deg. My 6.5/284 with the 1-8 twist didn't seems to like them seated out into the lands 53.5grs of RL 23 showed the most promise. 53.8grs with the 142gr SMK is outstanding in this barrel. I always start off testing with the bullet seated into the lands and then if that doesn't work I start jumping .005 at a time to see what makes things better usually .020 off this style bullet should shoot good. Hornady says these will work in a 1-8 twist put I think a 7.5 would be better I probably will try these in my 1-7 twist barrel an see what they do in that one.
The 6mm 110gr shot very good with my same load I use with my 103gr Vapor Trail bullets. H4895 an 32.2 grs that gave me 2960 fps with no pressure I went up to 32.4 grs but the group open up still no signs of pressure and the velocity went up to 2980 fps. Since this bullet is only .24285 it won't generate as much pressure as a fatter .2433 bullet will Hornady probably did that for the 6mm Creed an other small cases to get the velocity up over 2900 fps.
Hope to test the 110gr bullets at 1,000 yards but its going to rain everyday so don't know when that test will happen.
