I don't have experience with Blackhorn, but I believe DI would light it right up having no bushing or flame channel other than the 1/2" module.

Scat did a trace a while back but its gone. FPS and pressure both increased about 10% for a 120gr by volume load.
That was for a 300gr sabotless in a 45cal. You may get more or less in a 50cal with sabots.

Does any one have any experience with this set up in a 50 cal Also anxiously waiting feedback on this now that the DI Breech Plugs are now available for the Original TC Encore / Omega. It is funny that even as “Old” as these TC Original Breech Plugs are they are Rear Sealing, makes you wonder about the Savage Design.

I must not be seeing the rear sealing on the Encore/Omega plug?

My experience with the DIS module. I drilled out the CVA breech plug and tapped it for the DIS module. Also removed approximately .130 for correct head space. Leaves about .100 of hex for socket to grip. No modification to bolt face. Using 105 grains by weight of BH 209 with a 300 grain bullet, (swaged to .4532). With this combination I had two primers blowout. I removed the breech plug and noticed the thin ring section at the end was bulged out. Opps! a sign of over pressure. I was surprised in consideration to BH 209 causing over pressure. You would think it is safe and 105 is a normal charge. It was a mystery until I read about the extra pressure that the DIS module can create. However this can be a good thing as in using less BH 209 to produce the same pressure. I reduced to 91 grains by weight with good accuracy. Do not know velocity readings and shooting 100 yards

Do not know velocity readings and shooting 100 yards 84 grains by weight and 120 grains by volume is a max Blackhorn charge in any normal muzzleloader. Unless it was one of the new long range ML made for magnum charges or a smokeless conversion, you were significantly over recommended max charge especially with a 300 grain bullet.
