Congratulations.....beautiful rifle. Cannot say about the validity of the thread, but on another forum it was stated that you don't want to torque the center action screw much at all. A guy was having accuracy problems, tried that suggestion, and said his accuracy improved a lot. That was a CF Savage, so it could pertain, or not. The ProVarmint is the most comfortable stock I have ever used. I've never shot anything in a Manners stock, but it would have to be superior-everything to be nicer shooting! Wish I had a PV stock on all my rifles. Love that golf-club bolt handle. It really gives a person something to grab onto. A couple of my Sav CF's have them. P.S. How many crimes are ya gonna solve with Sicario?!?

Steve,
Hillbilly's need lovin' too...boogers ain't too bad when you're hungry :-)
Turned out nice and be willing to bet that it is a shooter.
Are all the accessories there that you wanted and needed?
From skirting around behind the scene....I will predict that the next shoot is going to be an "eye opener" as far as group sizes are concerned.
Mike

The stuff coming out the Skunk Works keeps getting better and better so I'm curious to see how the next KY shoot turns out too.

Accessories are top notch including the dual die. Your work is second to none, and that's no smoke just a plain fact. I can't thank you enough for the work and the conversations. Scope is mounted per all the instructions I've read and digested from this forum and the other. I followed the routine to the letter, inch pound wrench, blue loctite, torpedo level, plumb bob hanging from tree at 80yd to line up vertical reticle...etc.... pushed rings forward on rail.... Like I stated before, this is just a collaboration of advise and help from everyone. I told this to another board member...if I had read this much in high school I would have qualified for about 2 years of college credits....lol Thanks again Steve

Oh, and let me chime in and say during the building process and viewing my credit card statements I was acquiring a serious case of buyer's remorse.
When I got that bad boy today and got the scope mounted, it went away like I just got a big booster of penicillin.
Sorry guys but I'm just as giddy as Christmas 6 year old.....
Thanks Richard, that means alot!!

Jeff, I will do my best to be there. That time of year is perfect for camping, which is what I do. Rain is no consideration.

Very Nice Rig there brother....That gun is more like heavy metal VIAGRA ...Mike and HillBill are setting me up on a very similar build, just not decided on the stock yet though....I wish I would have shouldered Droptines gun at the last shoot...as it is the pro varmint to..... Decided on what loads you are going to feed it to start out with.....?
